Well, a lot has happened in the last year or so. On top of my many freelance illustration and design projects, I've moved from Hawaii back to California and started working on my own live action film projects. More on that in the months to come.

I'll be relaunching this site later in the year, but in the meantime, please check in at my official facebook fan page here:

That page will be very regularly updated with my most recent works and news. As I'm not the one solely responsible for the upkeep of the page, you can trust that it will be updated many times a week. Don't worry, I'm still very closely involved.

For all that have been waiting so patiently, I'm happy to say that I have added nearly 30 new pieces to the Gallery. I've even created a new section for the comic book art I've been getting into over the past couple years. Enjoy! - there's always more to come.

Also, for anyone who might want to meet me in person or have me sign some artwork, I will be at the San Diego Comic-Con again this year from July 21st to the 23rd. I will not have a booth of my own, but I will be signing at the booths for Dark Horse Comics, Heavy Metal Magazine and Wizards of the Coast for Magic: The Gathering - perhaps more. I'll only be there Wednesday through Friday of the convention. See ya there.

It has been a crazy year so far and I've got plenty news to share:

First off, I'm excited to finally announce that my art will grace the cover of the forthcoming album from the band Disturbed - it'll be titled Asylum. The album will be released on August 31st and they'll be touring even before that. Check out the news at the Disturbed Website. I created more than just the cover art for the album, so we'll have to wait to see those pieces rear their heads, but here is the cover for the time being.

Next, after a long run-up, I'm very proud to say that I was one of many artists invited to contribute a piece to a forthcoming book project titled Star Wars: Visions. My piece is titled Shadows of Tatooine and a preview of it can be found on the Star Wars Website. The piece will be released as a limited edition print around the same time the book comes out in the fall of this year. I'll be working up some additional Star Wars pieces to be released as prints as well, but more on that later.

Finally, I'd just like to call some attention to a cover and digital painting tutorial I created for the Clash of the Titans themed issue of the ImagineFX magazine. I really do love mythology, so it was a great opportunity to create my own take on Medusa.

As promised, I've updated the Gallery with more than a dozen new images. The Illustration section includes new pieces and I've also created an entirely new section devoted to my work on the game Magic: the Gathering. The new Magic section is likely to be the fastest growing in my gallery, so check back often if it strikes your fancy.

In light of these challenging times, I want to wish everyone good fortune in this New Year of 2009!

2008 was a very full year of work for me which distracted me quite a bit from the outside world... including this website. Having recently relocated from the San Francisco Bay Area to Honolulu Hawaii, I intend to find a bit more balance with the natural world and to communicate more with the human world. Here goes:

Just to catch up, early in 2008, I worked on preproduction art for the forthcoming Heavy Metal animated film to be animated by Blur studios and produced by David Fincher (one of my favorite directors). As is often the case with Hollywood, production and funding on the film has been riding a rollercoaster, so we'll just have to wait and see where the project goes in 2009.

In the latter half of 2008 I had a considerable showing of pieces in the EXPOSÉ 6 annual from Ballistic Publishing as well as a piece in the SPECTRUM 15 annual from Underwood Books.

Also, I created a fair number of pieces for the Shards of Alara set for Magic: The Gathering. For those who don't collect the card game, my art is quite prevalent throughout the companion book A Planeswalker's Guide to Alara: A Magic: The Gathering Field Guide, including the cover. Many incredible artists toil away to create the expansive, imaginative world of Magic and I'm proud to be among them. More to come on that later.

Lastly for this update, I want to mention a couple profiles of my work that will be released in the coming months. First, I will be featured on the cover of upcoming issue #40 of ImagineFX magazine with a tutorial on creature design. Secondly, I'll be featured with another tutorial in the first edition of the Art Squared digital painting annual.

No new updates to my gallery this time, but I have a considerable backlog of images I created in the last year that I can't wait to show... as soon as I get them all organized. In the meantime, here are a couple blog links to get a taste - Blog1 - Blog2.

With upcoming work in books, films, comics, cards, prints and perhaps an illustrated novel, this year will be another full and, hopefully, fruitful one.

I'll be back sooner than last time... promise!

Well, it's been a long time since my last update, but I've done a lot of work in the last year. Ten new pieces have been posted in the illustration section of the Gallery. Many more are on their way in the next update, including a new section of the gallery for tattoos. So, if you have any skin art based on my work, please send me a photo and it will join my online collection.

My work also appears in the recently released Spectrum 14. Click here to get yourself a copy. It's another great collection this year.

Finally, if you're in the UK, I have an interview available in issue #37 of Advanced Photoshop Magazine. For the American crowd, I will be profiled in the forthcoming issue of ImagineFX magazine.

At long last, Oddworld Inhabitants has officially announced our first animated feature film project will be a sci-fi action thriller called Citizen Siege. I've been creating art for this project behind closed door over the course of the last couple years and I couldn't be more excited to start sharing it with the world... all in good time.

Here is a link to the official Press Release for the film.

In other news, Spectrum 13 annual is now available and it's another stunning compilation of sci-fi and fantasy art. Again, I'm honored to have a few of my pieces included amongst such an amazing collection of artwork.

It's been a long summer so far and it's not over yet. Even though I took my first European trip for the better part of June, my illustration workload has remained the same. For now there are a handful of new pieces in the illustration section of the Gallery and many more on the way. The coming months are looking very exciting, but more on that later.

I've added a brief description of how I work through the course of an illustration to my Q+A section. It's a very basic view of my approach, hopefully it sheds a little light on my process for inquiring minds.

Also, a number of my pieces have been accepted into the Spectrum 13 annual that will be out in bookstores this fall. Much of my exposure and opportunities have come to me via Spectrum over the years and I'm proud to be included in its pages again for this lucky numbered edition.

Between traveling, continuing to flesh out Oddworld and a full freelance schedule, my plate has been quite full this first quarter of the year. But that's no excuse to let so much time pass since my last update.

A new set of paintings has been added to the illustration section of the Gallery, including two pieces I created for SIMS Snowboard decks. I can't wait to see the actual boards when they manufacture them later this year. I'll post a link when they become available.

Also, there is a quick addition to the Q+A section as advice to aspiring concept designers.

Lastly, I'm pleased to say that a number of my pieces will be included in the upcoming annual digital art anthology, EXPOSÉ 4. From what I've seen so far, it's an impressive collection of computer generated art from around the globe. I'm honored to be included alongside so many talented artists. Check it out at Ballistic Publishing.

The Design section of the Gallery is now populated with a first round of sketches and paintings created for my personal exploration.

Looking back, this has been a productive year for my illustration endeavors and more of my 2005 work will be posted as soon as is permitted. As we enter the new year, most of my time continues to be occupied with work on the first Oddworld feature film. Not much can be said about that at this point, but I have a feeling this coming year will be even more fruitful than the last.

Cheers to all! Have a great New Year!

Eight new images have been added to the illustration section of the gallery. These are just the first of many on the way in coming months.

Also, there is information in the Q+A section about prints I'd like to make available in the future. Please check it out and let me know your opinion.

Welcome to my newly launched website. The content is very fledgling and all the basics are falling into place with time.

Please visit the Gallery and the Q+A sections to help get the site rolling.
